Job summary

Akina, Inc. in Maryland is seeking a Senior SIE3 Systems Engineer to lead system administration, integration, testing and field deployments.

You will install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Linux and Windows environments, and drive software/hardware integration across lab and site locations. The position requires TS/SCI with polygraph, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, and substantial experience.

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) years of experience as a software integrator, tester, system administrator, or systems engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline is required.
• A Master's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, reducing total years to ten (10).
• In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, an additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Perform system administration, maintenance, upgrades, installation, test, integration, and configuration.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain operating systems and software on Linux and Windows.
• Maintain and develop environments for hardware/software builds, staging, testing and integration.
• Perform system testing and field/site integration at labs and field sites.
• Prepare and update technical documentation for installations, sustainment, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Provide Tier 3 support for system failures and degradation issue resolution.
• Provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers.
• Monitor system performance and security; advise on architecture changes.
• Serve as technical lead for software integration and testing; ensure QA of integration processes.

Description

Perform system administration, maintenance, upgrades, installation, test, integration, and configuration.

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain operating system and software applications on Linux and Windows platforms.

Maintain and develop the environment for hardware and software systems builds, staging, testing and integration.

Perform system, sub-system, and equipment racking, stacking, testing and software integration at field sites and local lab environments.

Prepare and update technical documentation for system and software installations, sustainment, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

Provide Tier 3 support for system failures and degradation problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.

Provide technical support to software development and integration efforts in the lab and during field installations.

Create system-specific software baselines and related configuration files in preparation for new deployments or system upgrades.

Provide in-depth trouble-shooting of IT system.

Provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers.

Analyze and resolve complex system and integration problems.

Monitor and assess system performance and security, and assist in determining the system impact, cost, risk, and recommended architecture changes.

Serve as technical lead for software integration and testing.

Ensure quality assurance of software integration test processes and products.

SIE3 Qualifications

Twelve (12) years of experience as a software integrator, tester, system administrator, or systems engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

A Master's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby reducing the total years of experience to ten (10).

In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, an additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted.

Salary Range

$184k-$226k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
