Job summary

Henry Ford Health Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the system float pool for medical and surgical units across Michigan. The RN – System Float Med/Surg will assess patient needs, perform nursing interventions, and adapt to changing assignments with professionalism and safety in mind.

Shifts available are Nights, contingent at 72 hours per month, with placement across multiple hospitals and units.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Two years of related clinical nursing experience in the area of interest.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, NRP, and EFM where required.
• Up-to-date TB and vaccine requirements (e.g., flu).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and identify nursing problems proactively, often before explicit changes in vital signs or clinical indicators become apparent.
• Develop and implement individualized, effective nursing care plans based on clinical assessment and patient-specific needs.
• Perform a comprehensive range of professional nursing services across medical and surgical patient populations.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and interdisciplinary hospital personnel to ensure coordinated care.
• Adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining consistent quality of care across multiple unit assignments.
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge and analytical thinking to address complex nursing situations and patient care challenges.
