About the role
- We are seeking aSystems Engineerto design, develop, and implement data engineering solutions supporting mission-critical data environments. The ideal candidate will have experience withApache NiFi, Linux, data schemas/ontologies, structured data formats (XML, CSV, JSON), databases (MySQL/NoSQL), and analytic query platforms. You will support the mapping, modeling, transformation, and ingestion of IC-provided data sets into enterprise repositories while documenting data flows and routing solutions. Experience withsmart data systems, entitlements, Java, and Splunkis highly desired.
What you'll do
- Demonstrated experience supportingSystems Engineering effortsthroughout the system development lifecycle.
- Experience designing and implementingcomprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
- Ability to perform and/or approveend-to-end system trade analysesto optimize system performance, cost, and operational effectiveness.
- Experience managingconfiguration controlof evolving hardware, software components, and associated system documentation.
- Ability to develop and evaluatesystem design alternativesconsidering lifecycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, scalability, and future growth.
- Knowledge of currentagency, national, and international standardsapplicable to systems development.
- Ability to analyze selection criteria andrecommend optimal technical solutions.
- Experience providingtechnical direction across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
- Ability to define and documentsoftware interfaces, including origin, destination, triggers, and data characteristics.
Qualifications
- Must be aU.S. Citizenwith an activeTS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Fourteen (14) years of Systems Engineering experiencesupporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree inSystems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical disciplinefrom an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge ofsmart data systems and data entitlements.
- Experience withJava and Splunk.
- Experience supportingagency dataflow and reporting solutions.
- Experience developingsystem performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirementsfor mid-to-large scale systems.
- Experience integratingCOTS and GOTS solutionsacross multiple vendors.
- Experience developing and deployingstorage solutions in clustered and/or cloud environments.
- Experience designing and implementingsecure, compliant solutionsaligned with legal, policy, and regulatory requirements.
The pay range for this role is:
220,000 - 235,000 USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
