About the role
- We are seeking an experiencedSoftware Engineer (SWE-3)to support the development, sustainment, and enhancement of mission-critical software capabilities within the GHOSTGEM software suite, including DINO and future capabilities as mission needs evolve. The ideal candidate is a technically driven engineer with strong software development experience, a passion for solving complex problems, and the ability to lead teams in delivering high-quality solutions. This role requires collaboration with technical teams, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain software applications supporting critical national security missions.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with customers and system engineering teams to select and implement appropriate software development processes and methodologies.
- Lead software development activities including design, implementation, testing, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of mission applications.
- Ensure quality control across all developed and modified software through effective review, testing, and engineering practices.
- Delegate development and testing responsibilities across engineering teams while monitoring progress, performance, and technical outcomes.
- Develop and maintain software solutions integrating with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), government off-the-shelf (GOTS), and open-source software (FOSS) products, packages, and libraries.
- Work within Linux-based environments to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize software applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support evolving mission requirements and deliver innovative technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Must be aU.S. Citizen.
- Must possess an activeTS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical disciplinefrom an accredited college or university, with five (5) years of software engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical disciplinefrom an accredited college or university, with seven (7) years of software engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
OR
- Nine (9) years of software engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience with Bash scripting and automation.
- Experience with Rust programming concepts or the ability and willingness to learn Rust.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd.
- Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Experience creating Helm Charts for deploying containerized services.
- Familiarity with messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools, including GitLab CI.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Ansible.
The pay range for this role is:
220,000 - 235,000 USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
