Culper Technology is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, test, and integrate mission-critical software in a security-cleared environment. You will work with Linux, Rust, and modern DevOps tooling to deliver scalable capabilities using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Advanced degree or senior experience per listed combinations.
• Proven software engineering experience in complex programs.
• Experience with Linux command-line tools and environments.
• Rust programming concepts or willingness to learn Rust.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Experience creating Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ and CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with IaC concepts and tools (Ansible).
• Experience using Git source control.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical software applications.
• Design, implement, test, and integrate software with COTS, GOTS and FOSS.
• Develop using Python and modern software practices.
• Support containerized app development and deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Create and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments.
• Develop automation scripts and improve operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex software and system integration issues.
• Support CI/CD workflows, IaC, and source control practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable mission capabilities.

About the role

• We are seeking aSoftware Engineerto support the development, sustainment, and troubleshooting of future mission capabilities. The ideal candidate will work on the design, implementation, testing, and integration of software solutions that incorporateCOTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries. The successful candidate will contribute to a mission-focused software development environment, leveraging modern programming languages, container technologies, and DevOps practices to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

The pay range for this role is:

220,000 - 235,000 USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
