Job summary

Culper Technology in Annapolis Junction, MD is seeking skilled Software Engineers at multiple levels to join our growing team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex software systems.

Ideal candidates will have experience with cross-functional teams, strong communication, and hands-on capabilities across REST APIs, microservices, Java, Spring Boot, AWS, CI/CD, and containerization.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Strong foundation in computer science, software development, algorithms, data structures.
• Ability to apply technical expertise to mission‑critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate REST APIs and existing interfaces.
• Apply microservices architecture and enterprise app development principles.
• Develop with Java frameworks like Spring Boot, Tomcat, Maven.
• Work with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Containerize applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work with databases such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and SQL.
• Use Git/GitLab for source control and collaboration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on mission-focused software.

What you'll do

• Experience designing, developing, and integratingREST APIsand working with existing tools, services, and application interfaces.
• Knowledge ofmicroservices architecture, software design principles, and enterprise application development.
• Experience withJava frameworks and technologies, includingSpring Boot, Apache Tomcat, and Mavenfor application development and build automation.
• Familiarity withcloud development and infrastructure management, particularly withinAWS environments and services.
• Experience withCI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software deployment processes.
• Hands‑on experience withcontainerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with databases and data platforms such asMongoDB, Elasticsearch, and SQL-based databases.
• Proficiency withGit and GitLabfor source control and collaborative software development.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while supporting mission-focused software development efforts.
