Job summary

AppCard, Inc. in New York City is seeking a System Engineer to provide 1st-3rd line support and hands-on operations expertise in IoT and cloud infrastructure. You will diagnose issues, act as primary technical contact for customers, and help improve our knowledge base, while maintaining excellent client relationships and delivering top-notch support.

This full-time role requires off-hour and weekend support and is based at our NYC office. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Strong Linux administration skills for mission-critical apps.
• Experience with system performance-monitoring tools.
• Networking knowledge: load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, TCP/IP.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-evolving environment.
• Experience as Technical Support/IT Help Desk or similar.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot Linux-based systems, databases, and networks.
• Serve as primary tech contact for Level 1-3 support.
• Collaborate to document best practices and knowledge base.
• Follow up with clients to ensure IT systems are fully functional.
• Document technical knowledge as notes and manuals.
• Maintain strong client relationships and customer experience.
• Manage multiple open issues and prioritize effectively.
• Think beyond the ticket to assess business impact.
