Job summary

Hostinger is seeking a System Engineer for the Email Hosting team to build and run a scalable, resilient email platform serving millions of mailboxes. You’ll own the full stack from compute to services, modernizing large parts of the platform and writing playbooks rather than following them.

You’ll work on architectural work ahead, with emphasis on automation, monitoring, and security. Join a team that values customer obsession and innovative products.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux experience (5+ years)
• On-prem and cloud exposure with virtualization
• Infrastructure as Code practices with Ansible or Terraform
• Programming or scripting in Go or Python (bonus: both)
• Production experience with databases, caches, and queues
• Containers and orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker
• Storage fundamentals with distributed storage like Ceph
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP

Responsibilities

• Build and scale the infrastructure behind the service.
• Run storage at scale across a distributed fleet.
• Automate infrastructure with code and pull requests.
• Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for large platforms.
• Own monitoring, observability, and alerting.
• Address spam and abuse through filtering and auth controls.
• Investigate root causes and drive systemic fixes.
• Share knowledge through runbooks and code reviews
