Job summary

Synechron seeks a Senior Systems Operations Developer to manage and optimize production messaging platforms. You will maintain Linux-based systems, configure Proofpoint/Cloudmark, and ensure secure, reliable mail flow across the environment.

The role involves incident response, automation, and collaboration with engineering, security, and support teams to sustain high availability and performance for critical communications infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux and command-line administration.
• Solid understanding of email and messaging technologies (SMTP, DNS/MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Experience with SMTP routing, mail relays, gateways, connectors, and mail-flow troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support messaging and email infrastructure in production environments.
• Perform day-to-day product operations, including monitoring, incident response, service validation, and operational support.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and services.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Proofpoint and Cloudmark messaging and email-security solutions.
• Design and maintain SMTP routing, relays, gateways, connectors, and mail-flow configurations.
• Analyze email delivery issues and routing failures.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and workflows.
• Investigate production incidents using root-cause analysis.
• Develop scripts to improve automation and efficiency.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and knowledge articles.
• Support upgrades, patches, migrations, and deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
• Ensure security, availability, and performance requirements.
