Job summary

Adapt is hiring an engineer to own the computer underneath the platform. You will build and scale infrastructure that powers customer workloads, while staying in touch with product goals through direct customer engagement.

The role blends deep systems work with product delivery, including shipping features and maintaining low-cost, reliable services across the stack. Expect collaboration with leadership in SF and flexible remote options.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of professional engineering experience, with a meaningful chunk on infrastructure.
• Experience at an early-stage startup where infrastructure was the product.
• Owned a multi-tenant compute/build system with isolation, reliability, and cost accountability.
• Mentored engineers without a managerial title.
• Strong in at least one systems language (Rust or Go).
• Comfortable at the Linux layer and kernel concepts.
• Experience with GCP and Kubernetes directly.

Responsibilities

• Own the computer underneath Adapt; ship world-class infrastructure powering the product.
• Participate in customer conversations and ship user-facing features.
• Architect decisions and mentor teammates without formal management duties.
• Ensure isolation, reliability, and cost efficiency in multi-tenant systems.
