This position reports to

Systems Drives Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work per work instructions, adhering to ABB quality and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service, plan and execute service work based on customer orders and expectations, and communicate effectively to ensure customer retention.

The work model is field service, which can be remote.

This role contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division in Skowhegan, ME, and the surrounding region.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Working with customers on-site to identify opportunities to improve operations and eliminate pain points.
• Performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and conducting analysis through remote or on-site activities within your certified service categories and products.
• Preparing material lists for service activities and ensuring availability and quality of all required materials, parts, and equipment.
• Acting as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Qualifications for the role

• Associates degree in a related field with 2+ years of related work/military experience OR high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of related work/military experience.
• Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
• Experience in performing field service engineering for AC and DC drive systems, using test equipment like oscilloscopes, data loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. Experience with ABB 800xA is a plus.
• Ability to analyze and test system hardware and software performance of OEM integrated machines.
• Availability for 24/7 work based on business needs; up to 80% travel.
• Proficiency in writing detailed technical reports.
• Skills in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical equipment.
• Compliance with safety requirements and completion of safety training.
• Legal work authorization in the US.
