Reporting To

Systems Drives Operations Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work according to work instructions, ABB quality, and safety guidelines. You will provide quality customer service by planning and executing service work based on customer orders and expectations. You will also demonstrate your expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service timelines and expectations.

The work model for this role is remote/travel. It contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division in the Northwest region. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Working with customers on-site to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
  • Performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and analyzing system performance through remote or on-site activities within your certified service categories and products.
  • Preparing material lists for service activities and ensuring the availability and quality of all materials, parts, and equipment.
  • Acting as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant work/military experience OR high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
  • Experience in performing field service engineering for AC and DC drive systems, utilizing test equipment such as oscilloscopes, data loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. Experience with ABB 800xA is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and test system hardware and software performance of OEM integrated machines.
  • Availability for 24/7 work based on business needs; up to 80% travel required.
  • Proficiency in writing detailed technical field service reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Compliance with ABB and customer safety requirements, including completing safety training on time.
  • Existing work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
