This position reports to

Systems Drives Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work according to work instructions, ABB quality, and safety guidelines. You will deliver high-quality customer service by planning and executing service work based on customer orders and expectations. You will also demonstrate your expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service timelines and expectations.

The work model is field service, which can be based remotely. This role contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division in Skowhegan, ME, and the neighboring region.

You will be mainly responsible for:

1. Working with the customer on-site to identify opportunities to improve operations and eliminate pain points.
2. Performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and analyzing systems remotely or on-site for which you are certified.
3. Preparing material lists for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of suitable quality.
4. Acting as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Qualifications for the role

• Associate's degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant work or military experience, or high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
• Experience in performing field service engineering for AC and DC drive systems; familiarity with test equipment like oscilloscopes, data loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. Experience with ABB 800xA is a plus.
• Ability to analyze and test system hardware and software performance of OEM integrated machines.
• Availability for 24/7 work based on business needs, with up to 80% travel.
• Proficiency in writing detailed technical reports.
• Skills in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical equipment.
• Ability to comply with safety requirements and complete safety training on time.
• Legal work authorization for employment in the US.
