Position Reporting To

Systems Drives Operations Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work according to work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work aligned with customer orders and expectations. Your expertise will help ensure customer retention through effective communication of service timelines and expectations.

The work model is: remote/travel. This role contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division in the Northwest region. You will be primarily responsible for:

  1. Working with customers onsite to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
  2. Performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and conducting analysis through remote or onsite activities within your certified service categories and products.
  3. Preparing material lists for service activities and ensuring availability and quality of all materials, parts, and equipment.
  4. Acting as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Qualifications for the Role
  • Associates degree in a related field with 2+ years of related work or military experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
  • Experience in performing field service engineering for AC and DC drive systems, using test equipment like oscilloscopes, data loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. Experience with ABB 800xA is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and test system hardware and software performance of OEM integrated machines.
  • Availability to work 24/7 as needed, with up to 80% travel.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Compliance with ABB and customer safety requirements, including timely completion of safety training.
  • Existing work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
