Job summary

Bowman Williams is seeking an IT help desk professional for a Staten Island-based MSP role. You will own and resolve tickets, troubleshoot Windows and Microsoft 365, and support multiple clients and end users. You’ll engage in cloud and security projects, automation, and scripting to move toward engineering or cybersecurity roles.

You will collaborate with senior engineers on escalations and participate in deployments, onboarding, and technology implementations across a variety of MSP clients.

Qualifications

• This role makes the most sense for someone who already has a foundation in IT support but doesn't want to spend the next several years resetting passwords and closing the same basic tickets.

Responsibilities

• Own support tickets from initial request through resolution
• Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, applications, hardware, and connectivity issues
• Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft cloud environments
• Work directly with multiple MSP clients and end users
• Participate in technology rollouts, upgrades, migrations and deployments
• Assist with client onboarding and technology implementations
• Gain hands‑on exposure to cybersecurity and SOC operations
• Review security alerts and identify issues requiring escalation
• Work with ThreatLocker and other security technologies
• Maintain client documentation through IT Glue
• Work alongside more senior engineers on escalated technical issues
• Gain exposure to scripting and automation
• Develop skills with PowerShell and Python
• Explore ways to use AI and automation to improve IT operations
• Build the technical experience needed to move into higher-level engineering, cloud, projects, or security

Job description

Environment: Managed Service Provider / Multi-client

For this opportunity, you’ll be joining a growing Staten Island-based Managed Service Provider that has been supporting businesses throughout New York since 2012. This is a smaller, team-oriented MSP where you’ll have access to senior technical resources and the opportunity to expand beyond traditional help desk work.

The culture is definitely different from the typical corporate IT environment. Their office includes arcade games, life-size superhero/Marvel displays, summer BBQs on the balcony, and a team that refers to themselves as their “IT Superheroes.” They want people who work hard and take ownership of their clients, but also want employees to enjoy where they work.

More importantly, this is a good opportunity for someone who wants to use support as a stepping stone into higher-level IT. You’ll handle day-to-day client issues, but you’ll also get exposure to projects, Microsoft cloud technologies, cybersecurity, automation, PowerShell, Python, and AI.
