Job summary

CARSON SOLUTIONS LLC, located in Annapolis Junction, MD, seeks an experienced IT Systems Administrator to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 help desk support, optimize system operations and assist users in accessing IT resources. Annapolis Junction, MD | Monday thru Friday

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Aid users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

Experience

• Three (3) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Experience with RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, and Ubuntu.
• OS Installation, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, operating system application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install.
• Understanding HPC architecture, knowledge about high-speed networks such as InfiniBand and Slingshot.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, and Ansible.
• Good troubleshooting skills.

Requirements

• Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance. US citizenship is required.
• IAT Level II Certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Salary

The likely salary range is up to $122K. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
