Job summary

Sigma Information Group, Inc. seeks a System Administrator to manage IT infrastructures for multiple clients in a variety of industries.

You will deploy Exchange, VMware, and Windows Server, coordinate resources, and build/upgrade environments with a focus on reliability and customer satisfaction. The role combines on-site work in the Dallas area with remote support for additional clients nationwide, including Austin and Houston, adapting to client needs while maintaining strong communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
  • 1+ year as a network/system administrator or IT manager.
  • Experience supporting multiple clients at an MSP.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Windows Server, Office.
  • Networking concepts: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMTP.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and professional interaction with executives.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy complex solutions involving Exchange, VMware and Windows Server.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources and vendors.
  • Build new network and server environments.
  • Manage, maintain and upgrade existing servers, networks and desktops.

Job description

Candidates must reside in the Dallas, TX metropolitan area. The employee will support a client based in the Highland Park area and surrounding regions, working both on-site and remotely. When not engaged with this client, the employee will work remotely supporting additional clients located in other markets, including Austin and Houston.

The System Administrator will have the opportunity to manage the technology infrastructures for multiple clients in a variety of different industries. This includes supporting and maintaining servers, desktops, firewalls, network equipment, software applications, backup systems, and more. We are looking for a technologically-savvy, detail-oriented, and self-motivated achiever who can provide outstanding service for our clients.

A Sigma System Administrator must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to support multiple clients, projects, and deadlines while maintaining the ability to handle unexpected situations. Additionally, he/she must have a high level of autonomy while being able to work with and contribute to the rest of the team.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy complex solutions involving a variety of technologies, such as Exchange, VMWare and Windows Server.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources and vendors.
  • Build new network and server environments.
  • Manage, maintain and upgrade existing servers, networks and desktops.
  • Maintain healthy working relationships with multiple customers, manage customer expectations, and regularly communicate status updates to customer contacts.
  • Understand customer business processes and goals and recommend technology solutions to improve those processes or achieve those goals.
  • Solve complex technical problems including, software deployments, server and desktop hardware issues and software problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of IT management experience
  • Minimum 1 year as a network/system administrator, IT manager or IT consultant
  • Prior experience handling multiple customers at an IT consultancy or MSP a big plus
  • Knowledge of common business operating systems and applications, including Windows, Windows Server and Office
  • Solid understanding of network technology and related concepts, such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMTP, etc
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to interface professionally with customer executives and employees
  • Ability to see problems through to resolution and communicate progress and results to customers
