As a Systems Engineer Consultant youll serve as the trusted technical advisor to a diverse range of small and mid-sized businesses, taking ownership of their infrastructure and delivering expert-level service across systems, networks, and cloud platforms. What Youll Do
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for multiple client environments, maintaining servers, networks, desktops, security tools, and cloud platforms.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and act as their go-to advisor for IT strategy, planning, and issue resolution.
  • Architect and implement infrastructure upgrades, network deployments, and cloud migrations.
  • Lead and manage projects coordinating timelines, resources, vendors, and deliverables.
  • Run status meetings with clients and internal teams to track milestones and maintain transparency.
  • Solve a wide range of issues—from everyday support tickets to critical outages and high-level architecture decisions.
  • Roll up your sleeves for hands-on work including hardware installs, firewalls, backups, patching, and performance tuning.
What You Bring
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in IT consulting, MSP support, or system/network administration
  • Working knowledge of business IT environments, including:
    • Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
    • Virtualization tools (VMware, Hyper-V), Remote Desktop Services
    • Firewalls and networking (Fortinet, Palo Alto, routing, VPNs)
    • Backup, security, and disaster recovery solutions
    • Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Physically able to handle computer hardware as needed
  • Based in Austin or nearby, with reliable transportation for client visits
