Job summary

Guardian Credit Union seeks an experienced IT Systems Administrator to oversee configuration, maintenance, and operation of core applications and systems. You will support users, manage networks, and ensure data security and backup procedures.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, a college degree, and the ability to work with Azure and Intune-managed devices. On-site work in Prattville, AL is expected with some after-hours support.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in system administration and IT operations.
  • Configuring, maintaining, and operating core applications/systems for the org.
  • Provide Level 2 support for Azure and Intune-managed devices.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components of computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and user accessibility.
  • Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot issues, and assist in resolving problems related to software, hardware, and network systems.
  • Monitor network performance, manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights, and implement security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access.
  • Document system configurations, changes, and procedures to maintain an accurate record of the technology environment and assist in compliance with IT policies.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with senior system administrators and IT teams to understand and implement new technologies or troubleshoot complex problems, providing Level 2 support for Azure, Intune-managed devices, and general IT issues.
  • Handle confidential data with discretion and follow security best practices.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations.

Experience
Knowledge and Skills

Two to Five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

A college degree.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Other Skills

Will be required to work outside of scheduled hours to respond to technology issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise

Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
