Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract position with a client located in Elk Grove, CA.

Rate Range: $42-$46/hr on W2, The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Position Summary:

We are seeking a System Administrator to support the IT and Operational Technology (OT) environment at a large industrial facility in the Elk Grove area. This role is ideal for a strong Windows Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, or IT Infrastructure professional who has experience with Windows administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, networking, patch management, and system troubleshooting.

Experience with SCADA, DCS, or PLC systems is a plus, but not required. Candidates with strong IT infrastructure fundamentals who are interested in learning OT systems are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows-based servers and workstations in an isolated operational environment.
• Manage Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Support Windows patching, system maintenance, and software updates.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and LAN environments.
• Maintain system backups and support archive/recovery activities.
• Assist with asset inventory and lifecycle management.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues and document resolutions.
• Work with internal technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and resolve issues.
• Support various infrastructure and operational technology projects.
• Assist with database and system-related troubleshooting.
• Use scripting tools such as PowerShell as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Networking experience, including switches, routers, LAN, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with patch management and system maintenance.
• Asset management/inventory experience.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
• PowerShell or other scripting experience.
• Exposure to SCADA, DCS, PLC, or industrial/OT environments is a plus, but can be learned on the job.
• General database/SQL knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• An Associate degree combined with approximately 2 years of relevant experience and applicable CompTIA certifications may also be considered.
• Equivalent relevant IT systems administration experience will be considered.
