• Monitor security logs, alerts, and events to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Perform security log analysis, investigations, and incident response activities.
• Assist with enterprise security event correlation and incident response across 3,000+ hosts.
• Identify vulnerabilities and assist with remediation and mitigation activities.
• Support vulnerability management programs, including scanning, research, assessment, and remediation tracking.
• Assist with administration and operational support of endpoint protection and security programs.
• Support security audits, vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and 24/7 monitoring.

Akkodis is seeking an IT Security Technician role is a Contract with a client located in Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-(Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants to have a solid background in IT, network security, cybersecurity, LAN/WAN would come as a big plus.

Pay Range: $40-$50/hr. The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are currently seeking an IT Security Technician to join an Information Technology Security team supporting a complex, statewide judicial technology environment. This position will work closely with the Security Supervisor to maintain and strengthen cybersecurity infrastructure, monitor security events, respond to incidents, and support enterprise security.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and support enterprise network and cybersecurity infrastructure.
• Support security infrastructure across LAN, WAN, Internet, servers, endpoints, and network-connected systems.
• Monitor security logs, alerts, and events to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents.
• Perform security log analysis, network analysis, investigations, and incident response activities.
• Assist with enterprise security event correlation and incident response across 3,000+ networked hosts.
• Identify system and network vulnerabilities and assist with remediation and mitigation activities.
• Support vulnerability management programs, including vulnerability scanning, research, assessment, and remediation tracking.
• Assist with administration and operational support of endpoint protection and security programs.
• Support security audits, vulnerability scans, penetration testing, active security monitoring, and policy enforcement.
• Assist with the design, testing, implementation, and maintenance of network firewall rules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and security-related tickets and technical issues.
• Assist with security analytics, reporting, and development of threat intelligence/business intelligence reports.
• Support disaster recovery planning and security-related recovery activities.
• Research emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, vendor solutions, and industry best practices.
• Communicate security risks, vulnerabilities, and recommended solutions to security leadership and technical teams.
• Provide after-hours and 24/7 on-call support for critical and non-critical security-related incidents and deployments.
• Promote security awareness and help ensure security best practices are followed throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in IT, network security, cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with network and information security technologies.
• Experience with security monitoring, log analysis, vulnerability assessment, or incident response.
• Understanding of LAN/WAN networking, firewalls, endpoint security, and network infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to investigate security events and determine appropriate remediation or mitigation strategies.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams, management, and security leadership.
• Willingness and ability to participate in 24/7 on-call support.
