Job summary

Lilly, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking candidates for the Synthetic Molecule Design and Development team to advance drug substance and product crystallization processes. You will join a collaborative group of process chemists, analytical chemists, formulation scientists and engineers tackling scale-up, PAT, and process optimization to support clinical trials and commercialization.

Successful candidates have a background in chemical engineering or related fields, hands-on lab

Qualifications

• BS/MS in chemical engineering or closely related field.
• Hands-on lab experience in a pharmaceutical or chemical setting.
• Strong foundation in crystallization, heat/mass transfer and process design.

Responsibilities

• Generate process design and unit operation knowledge for small molecules.
• Ensure successful scale-up of processes through engineering principles.
• Design and execute laboratory experiments (high- and low-throughput reactors).
• Develop drug substance processes and crystallization strategies.
• Leverage PAT and analytical techniques to improve crystallization processes.
• Characterize reaction kinetics and separations, and model processes.
• Publish and present original research; collaborate with external sites.
