Job summary

YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood seeks a Program Director to lead the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The role ensures DYCD compliance, oversees day‑to‑day operations, and provides guidance to SYEP staff while coordinating with various Y departments.

The Director serves as liaison to DYCD, manages recruitment, budgeting, and reporting, and guides program strategy and partner relationships to maximize youth outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Three years of related experience in youth development.
• Experience in program management with planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Proven ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate DYCD‑compliant worksites and enrollment.
• Ensure DYCD paperwork and audits are compliant.
• Lead recruitment and staff development for SYEP.
• Coordinate with DYCD, schools, and partner organizations.
• Oversee the SYEP budget and payroll.
• Maintain program documentation and reporting.
