Job summary

YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood is seeking a Director to lead the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The role ensures DYCD compliance, program planning, and day-to-day operations with a focus on recruitment, training, and stakeholder coordination.

The Director will supervise staff, manage the SYEP budget, and liaise between the Y and DYCD, worksites, participants, and other departments to deliver a high-quality summer experience for youth ages 14–24.

Qualifications

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation abilities.
• Ability to lead and develop staff and build partnerships.
• Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide staff to ensure effective SYEP operations.
• Ensure DYCD paperwork and program requirements are met for worksites and participants.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to recruit, enroll, and support youth participants.
• Oversee program budget, reporting, and DYCD submissions.
• Hire, supervise, and develop Job Developers, Administrative Staff, and Worksite Monitors.
• Plan and implement trainings, job fairs, and orientation activities.
