Base pay range

$32.00/hr - $34.00/hr

Market Express is a transportation and logistics company serving customers with creative shipping and freight solutions. Recognized as a top company in Portland, we have an immediate opening for a reliable Diesel Mechanic in our Portland, OR shop.

This full-time position offers competitive pay based on experience and benefits including medical/dental/vision, PTO, and 401k. The ideal candidate has an outgoing personality, team-oriented, self-starter, detail-oriented, and values accuracy.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing high-quality repairs on class 8 diesel trucks to minimize comebacks.
• Maintaining a safe work environment.
• Working in all weather conditions, including winter.
• Diagnosing and repairing various diesel trucks and trailing equipment.
• Understanding DOT regulations and identifying maintenance issues.
• Providing excellent customer service and communication.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization, taking pride in work.
• Lifting up to 75 lbs or more.
• Maintaining company vehicles and equipment.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• 49 CFR 396.19 and 396.25 certifications.
• At least 2 years of diesel truck repair experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with hand tools and own tools.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• Computer skills for RO’s, quick learner of new programs.
• Professional communication skills.
• Reliable with strong attendance.

Shift and compensation details:

• Monday to Friday, swing shift 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm, 8-hour workday with 30-minute lunch.
• Wage: $32-$34/hr depending on experience.
