Base pay range

$31.00/hr - $33.00/hr

We have an immediate opening for a reliable Diesel Mechanic to work in our Portland, OR shop.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Our chosen candidate will be eligible for our employee benefits package which includes medical/dental/vision, PTO, and 401k.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality service repairs on class 8 diesel trucks to minimize comebacks
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Willing to work in all weather conditions including winter driving
• Accurately diagnose and perform repairs on various types of diesel trucks and trailing equipment
• Have strong knowledge of DOT regulations and ability to identify maintenance issues
• Maintain excellent customer service skills and communicate effectively with leaders
• Be clean, organized, motivated, and take pride in your work
• Be able to lift up to 75 lbs or more
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have 49 CFR 396.19 and 396.25 certifications
• At least 2 years of experience in diesel truck repair, either in a shop or in the field
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proficiency with hand tools required
• Must have your own tools
• Valid driver’s license and insurability required
• Class A CDL preferred but not required
• Skilled in using computers and managing paperwork for repair orders
• Ability to quickly learn new programs and processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable and dependable with a strong attendance record

Compensation & Shift:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, swing shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm, 8-hour workday with a 30-minute lunch
• Starting wage of $31-$33 per hour depending on experience and qualifications + $2.00 shift differential for swing shift
• Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and PTO
