Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is looking for enthusiastic swim instructors or aides aged 15 and up. Join a community-focused team where you'll teach essential swimming skills and provide a safe and enjoyable environment for children.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years or older.
• Experience working with children is beneficial.
• Must pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Must complete in-water skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for swimming lessons.
• Encourage students for an enjoyable aquatics experience.
• Evaluate swimming skills and provide progress reports.
• Participate in aquatics staff team activities.
• Attend required staff meetings and training.

What is needed for this job as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Swim Instructor (Or Instructor Aide):

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
