Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in Danbury, CT is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach water safety and proper swim techniques using our curriculum. You will deliver engaging, structured lessons and ensure a safe, supportive environment for students of all ages.

Two or more years as a swimming instructor are required, along with Lifeguard/CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. Flexible shifts and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Two+ years as a swimming instructor required.
• Certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor or childcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides swim instruction based on Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Enforces safety rules and administers first aid when necessary.
• Evaluates students' progress and completes required paperwork.
• Interacts with parents/guardians on student progress.
• Acts as a Goldfish Swim School ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
• Uses problem-solving to identify and resolve student challenges.
• Inspects pool areas for maintenance or cleanliness, reports issues.
• Maintains storage of pool equipment and manages lane lines.
• Reports accidents and completes required documentation.
• Performs Deck Teacher duties as needed.
• Performs light cleaning duties occasionally.
• Attends mandatory workshops and trainings outside hours.
• Fulfils other duties as assigned by the Employer.
