Job summary

Exos Partners, LLC is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor in St. Paul, MN to teach multiple levels and age groups according to site guidelines. Plan lessons, select drills, evaluate progress, and maintain a safe positive teaching environment.

Applicants should hold current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications and a Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification, or be willing to obtain them. Prior lifeguarding or lesson-teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire.
• Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire.
• Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the sites instructional guidelines.
• Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate the student’s progress.
• Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices.
• Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment.
• Attend all in-service trainings.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificates.
• Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught in all levels.
• Effectively communicate each student’s progress either to the student directly, or to the student’s parents where appropriate.
• Project and promote a professional image.
• Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons.
• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs.
