Job summary

EXOS in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach multiple levels and age groups, plan lessons, demonstrate skills, and monitor student progress in a safety-conscious setting.

You will maintain accurate records, communicate progress to students and parents, enforce facility rules, and attend trainings to uphold a professional image. Must be 16+ with CPR/AED and First Aid certified, and Lifeguarding certification or able to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain them at hire.
• Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or ability to obtain at hire.
• Prior lifeguarding or swim teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 16 years old.

Responsibilities

• Teach levels and age groups according to guidelines.
• Plan lessons, drills and evaluate student progress.
• Demonstrate skills, correct performance and minimize fear.
• Maintain safe, positive teaching environment and accurate records.
• Communicate progress to students and parents when appropriate.
• Enforce facility rules and participate in trainings.

Job Summary:Responsibilities:We're seeking a Swim Instructor to join our team! As our new Swim Instructor you will:Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the sites instructional guidelinesPlan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate the student’s progressPresent proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devicesMaintain a safe and positive teaching environmentAttend all in-service trainingsMaintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificatesPerform all swimming strokes and skills taught in all levelsEffectively communicate each student’s progress either to the student directly, or to the student’s parents where appropriateProject and promote a professional imageExplain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patronsOther tasks as assignedQualifications:Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hireCurrent Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hirePrior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons preferred but not requiredPlease note *Must be at least 16 years of age*Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $15.00/hour to $20.00/hour. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs.
