Job summary

Formr is seeking a SVP/VP of Land Development in New York, NY to originate and secure the next wave of hyperscale data center campuses. The role is centered on end-to-end development, including site selection, entitlements and permitting, land acquisition, and power/fiber interconnection.

You will work closely with senior leadership to guide strategy and execution. Based in New York with travel and relocation covered by the company, this executive position requires a track record delivering GW+

SVP / VP, Land Development - Hyperscale Data Center Developer - New York, NY

One of the largest and fastest-growing data center developers in the US is hiring a VP, Land Development to help originate and secure the next wave of campuses.

This is a vertically integrated platform - land, power, development and construction under one roof - with tens-of-billions of active development underway representing several gigawatts of capacity across multiple states. With an aggressive growth plan ahead, securing the right sites and power is the engine of the business, and this role sits at the heart of it, working closely with senior leadership.

What you’ll own:

• Early-stage development end to end: site selection, entitlements and permitting across target growth markets
• Land acquisition: leading landowner negotiations, zoning approvals and purchase agreements
• Power and infrastructure: securing the power, water and fiber that make a site deliverable, including utility interconnection, tariffs and behind-the-meter generation
• Stakeholdersrelationships with landowners, utilities and local, state and federal agencies
• Feasibility: underwriting, cost-benefit and risk analysis, bringing recommendations to executive leadership
• New markets: identifying and evaluating where to grow next

What we’re looking for:

• 7–10+ years in data center development, including site selection and land acquisition, ideally for GW+ hyperscale campuses
• A track record of delivering large-scale mission-critical projects
• Strong command of zoning, entitlements, permitting and regulatory frameworks
• Experience securing power and fiber for hyperscale
• The commercial range to structure and negotiate complex land transactions with landowners, utilities and government
• Strong financial acumen and stakeholder skills

Based in New York with travel, and the company will cover a relocation.
