Vice President, Land Acquisition - Global Data Center Owner/Operator

A global data center developer, owner and operator is seeking a Vice President, Land Acquisition to lead the identification, acquisition and development of strategic data center sites across the United States.
This individual will play a critical role in shaping the company’s U.S. growth strategy, securing largescale greenfield and powered land opportunities capable of supporting hyperscale and AI infrastructure deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead national land acquisition and site strategy for hyperscale and AI-focused data center developments.
- Identify, evaluate and secure strategic development sites across targeted U.S. markets.
- Assess site viability based on deliverable power, transmission and utility infrastructure, fiber connectivity, entitlement risk, incentives, tax advantages, scalability and speed-to-market.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified greenfield and powered land development opportunities.
- Lead negotiations for land purchases, options, ground leases, development agreements and related transactions.
- Partner closely with utilities, transmission providers, municipalities, economic development groups and infrastructure stakeholders to support power, connectivity and project advancement.
- Oversee diligence activity including environmental assessments, zoning and permitting reviews, infrastructure / utility feasibility, title, survey and site risk evaluation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal real estate, engineering, construction, finance, legal and operations teams to move projects from acquisition through development.
- Provide executive leadership with regular updates on pipeline activity, market trends, risks and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data center land acquisition, site selection
- Proven track record leading complex site acquisition and development processes from sourcing through transaction close.
- Strong understanding of power infrastructure, interconnection, transmission, utility coordination, fiber, environmental diligence, permitting, zoning and land use.
- Experience evaluating site feasibility, development risk, infrastructure constraints and long-term strategic value.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Experience building or leading high-performing teams in fast-paced growth environments.
