Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an SVP Head of AI Governance to lead the enterprise AI Governance function, translating AI strategy and regulatory expectations into practical controls and governance processes across the organization. You will drive the first-line risk management and collaborate with second- and third-line partners to ensure disciplined governance across the AI lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 10+ years of experience in risk management, technology governance, AI governance, data governance, compliance, or audit.
• Proven experience leading governance, risk, control, or oversight programs in a complex enterprise.
• Strong understanding of AI concepts and responsible AI practices across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead Synchrony’s enterprise AI Governance function, including the operating model, routines, standards, controls, and reporting.
• Partner with risk, compliance, legal, technology risk, model risk, supplier management, privacy, and information security teams to strengthen AI risk management.
• Prepare for regulatory activities, audits, and executive risk reviews with high-quality materials and evidence.
• Translate policy, standards, and regulatory expectations into actionable procedures and governance artifacts for technology teams and business owners.
• Drive continuous improvement of AI governance capabilities and risk-based controls across the organization.
