Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a Vice President, Head of Program Management for AI to lead the operating engine for the AI organization. You will translate strategy into disciplined execution across strategic initiatives, enablement programs, tooling rollouts, and adoption efforts, with governance and cross-functional delivery priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; 10+ years of program leadership experience, or 14+ years with no degree.
• Proven track record leading enterprise-wide programs with multiple workstreams and senior stakeholders.
• Experience delivering strategic technology, data, analytics, AI, or enterprise transformation programs in regulated industries.
• Working knowledge of AI, data, analytics, and change management to coordinate credibly across stakeholders.
• Understanding of responsible AI, model governance, risk, privacy, and compliance considerations.
• Proficiency with portfolio, program, and executive reporting tools (e.g., MS Project/Planner, Power BI, Jira, SharePoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive storytelling and portfolio reporting.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and align cross-functional teams.
• Strong organization and portfolio management discipline in ambiguity.
• Experience with vendors/consultants and enablement resources management.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI program management day-to-day, coordinating initiatives, enablement, tooling, adoption, and cross-functional projects.
• Translate AI strategy into an integrated portfolio roadmap and execution rhythm for leadership tradeoffs.
• Establish and run AI portfolio operating model with intake, governance, escalation, and health reviews.
• Drive AI enablement across HR, learning, communications, risk, legal, and compliance.
• Lead AI tools rollout and adoption, ensuring readiness, training, and post-launch improvements.
• Coordinate enterprise AI initiatives across units, data partners, risk, procurement, and control functions.
• Aggregate and report AI portfolio KPIs and executive-ready updates for leadership.
• Maintain a trusted program record with documented decisions, risks, and outcomes.
• Develop proactive communication for AI leadership and enterprise audiences.
• Coordinate AI portfolio financials with Finance and business owners.
• Prepare executive briefings for Head of AI and governance forums.
• Plan AI program events and ensure disciplined follow-through.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
