Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Sustainment Engineer to join the Logistics & Sustainment Department in a matrix environment, supporting program execution from early lifecycle through fielding and sustainment.

You will develop and integrate sustainment processes, perform analyses, and collaborate with multiple disciplines to optimize readiness, maintenance, and lifecycle costs while ensuring clear communication with leadership and adherence to security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 4+ years (or Master's with 2+ years) of relevant experience.
• Experience in sustainment, logistics, systems engineering, or integrated product support.
• Experience on defense/aerospace or similar technical programs through lifecycle phases.
• Knowledge of lifecycle sustainment, maintenance planning, reliability, and logistics concepts.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to engineering, program, and leadership.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet cost/schedule constraints.
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve sustainment engineering processes, templates, tools, and standards.
• Support development of sustainment strategies from early lifecycle through fielding.
• Integrate support considerations into system and program decisions.
• Perform sustainment analyses on maintenance concepts, sparing, manpower, and lifecycle cost.
• Collaborate across disciplines to enable end-to-end logistics integration.
• Participate in design reviews to influence lifecycle decisions.
• Contribute to peer reviews and quality-control for sustainment products.
• Support contract deliverables and program documentation with sustainment input.
• Identify opportunities for data-driven, automated sustainment planning and decision-making.
