Job summary

IMEG is seeking an Innovation Services Intern in Naperville, IL to support the innovation team by providing technical assistance, documenting workflows, and learning new technologies over a 10–12 week summer program. This 100% employee-owned firm offers big-firm resources with local-team relationships.

You'll shadow senior specialists on engineering analyses, energy modeling, LEED/WELL/PHIUS/Green Globes support, and cross-functional collaboration, participating in research, data collection,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in engineering or architecture with strong academic performance.
• Interest in sustainability and innovation driving project support.
• Familiarity with green building certifications (LEED/WELL/etc.) is beneficial.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supporting sustainable design practices across the company
• Assist with building performance analyses on IMEG projects
• Assist with achieving green building certifications via energy modeling and documentation
• Coordinate design information across disciplines to inform energy models
• Identify decarbonization strategies including solar assessments
• Suggest design improvements with support from senior staff
• Research energy codes (LEED, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1) requirements
• Prepare and issue project reports
