Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Sustainability & Energy Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Naperville, IL. The intern will work with experienced engineers on energy modeling, CFD, and certification support, learning and contributing to multiple sustainability initiatives.

You will shadow senior staff, document workflows, and help with data collection, reporting, and cross‑functional collaboration. The program includes mentorship and a pathway to potential full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in sustainability/innovation.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written and oral communication skills; able to collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sustainable design practices across the firm.
• Support building performance analyses for IMEG projects.
• Contribute to energy modeling, documentation, and LEED/WELL/PHIUS/Green Globes efforts.
• Coordinate design information from multiple disciplines to inform energy models.
• Support decarbonization analysis and solar PV assessments.
• Research latest energy efficiency codes (LEED, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1).
• Prepare and issue project reports.
