IMEG is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Naperville, IL for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in designing mechanical systems, researching equipment, and coordinating across disciplines while gaining hands-on project experience.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years toward a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Skilled with AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment.
• Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and support other contracted services.
