Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant in Honolulu is seeking reliable Sushi Makers to prepare a variety of sushi dishes to our high-quality standards. Pay ranges from $16 to $24 per hour plus tips, with AM/PM shifts and both part-time and full-time options available.

Responsibilities include preparing sushi rice and ingredients, rolling and assembling dishes, ensuring freshness, maintaining sanitation, and coordinating with kitchen staff during service hours.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sushi Maker or similar role preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Join our team as a Sushi Maker at GYOTAKU JAPANESE RESTAURANT! We are looking for passionate individuals who love creating delicious sushi dishes. Whether you're a seasoned sushi chef or just starting out, we offer competitive pay rates from $16 to $24 per hour plus tips, based on experience. This position is available for both part-time and full-time roles with morning and evening shifts available.

Sushi Maker Pay Grades (Plus approximately $2 to $4 per hour in tips, depending on sales and shifts worked, higher tips on weekend shifts)

• Sushi III - Trainee through ability to work maki rolling station expertly $16 - $18/hr.
• Sushi II - Ability to work maki and nigiri stations expertly $18 - $21/hr.
• Sushi I - Ability to work maki, nigiri, fish cutting stations expertly $20 - $24/hr.
