Located in Bloomington, IL, Anju Above, part of Epiphany Farms Hospitality Group, offers a vibrant, globally inspired menu featuring sushi, Asian street food, and creative seasonal dishes in a casual, high-energy environment above downtown Bloomington.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled sushi cook with strong knife skills and experience working on a sushi station. The ideal candidate is committed to clean, consistent execution and eager to grow in a supportive kitchen that values creativity, culture, and teamwork. Relocation assistance may be available for out-of-town candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and present sushi dishes including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls
  2. Butcher and portion fish for service; experience with whole fish is a plus
  3. Follow recipes, plating standards, and safety protocols with consistency
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation
  5. Assist with prep and production during non-service times
  6. Communicate effectively with BOH leadership and teammates
Who You Are
  1. 2-3 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 1 year focused on sushi
  2. Strong knife skills and attention to technique
  3. Ability to work well in a team and stay calm under pressure
  4. Reliable, organized, and eager to improve
  5. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  6. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts

  1. Hourly pay: $17-$20/hr, based on experience and versatility
