A leading company is seeking a Remote Lead Cook responsible for managing kitchen staff and ensuring quality food production in a remote camp setting. The role requires strong supervisory skills and the ability to work in challenging conditions. Candidates must have significant cooking experience and be able to train others effectively.
This is a Temporary to possible Permanent position.
The remote lead cook is responsible for managing assigned kitchen staff by fostering a positive and safe working environment. They ensure all staff receive proper training, guidance, and leadership to perform their duties effectively and deliver quality services. All responsibilities are to be performed in alignment with NMS’s mission, vision, values, and departmental policies, practices, and procedures.
For candidates residing outside Anchorage:
Pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate’s residence, with travel expenses paid by the employee.
For Alaska residents: Testing will be scheduled within the state unless regional service limitations apply.
Travel to remote locations: Employees are responsible for expenses related to travel to the point of hire (Anchorage) for company-paid trips to remote camps.
Weather: Indoors and outdoors, often in Arctic conditions.
Noise level: Moderate to loud.
Environment varies by facility.
Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and other physical activities described in detail.
Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps.
