Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Sushi Clerk in the Hy-Chi department. You will fill customer orders, prepare fresh product, and keep the department running smoothly daily while upholding food safety and quality standards.

You will greet customers, assist with finding items, monitor freshness, and support teammates to ensure a positive shopping experience. Prior food service and safety certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Food safety certification is required.
• Six months or more of similar or related experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and helping with orders.
• Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist with finding products.
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness and supply levels.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product as needed from coolers or freezers.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and organized.
• Label, date, and rotate items; remove trash promptly.
• Anticipate daily product needs and maintain a production list.
• Order product and supplies as necessary.
• Work with teammates to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Adhere to Hy-Vee dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
