Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Sushi Clerk for our Hy-Chi department in Independence, MO. You will help fill orders, prepare fresh sushi items, and keep the department running smoothly, emphasizing food safety, freshness, and friendly customer service. This fast-paced role requires teamwork, accuracy, and a willingness to learn.

You’ll work closely with Store Directors and Hy-Chi managers to ensure a positive customer experience and adherence to Hy-Vee policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Food Safety Certification is required.
• Six months of similar or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
• Take orders at counter and over the phone; assist shoppers.
• Review orders, monitor freshness and stock levels throughout shift.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product; pull items from cooler/freezer as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and organization; label and date items.
• Follow production lists and anticipate daily needs; order supplies when necessary.
• Collaborate with team to ensure a smooth customer experience; adhere to dress code and policies.
