Job summary

Sushi Roku Santa Monica is hiring a highly skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. You will craft traditional and innovative sushi, work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, and uphold the highest standards of quality and hospitality.

This is a part-time, tipped position requiring Japanese cuisine training, the ability to multitask, and excellent teamwork. Candidates must be 18+, able to stand long hours, and pass a Food Handler certification where required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a high-end, high-volume restaurant.
• Skilled in traditional sushi and sushi rolls; strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sake, fish, seafood, and techniques.
• Able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Available to work 3 shifts.
• Must have a Food Handler Card upon hire.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various types of sushi and sauces per guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.
• Know our restaurant offerings and beverage program.
• Ensure proper food handling and regulation compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary workstation.
• Handle station opening/closing and side work duties.
