Job summary

The Cornerstone Day One Call Center Advocate position is a part-time role based in Bloomington, MN, providing trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and culturally responsive support to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, and other crimes via phone, text, email, or chat on the 24/7 Day One Crisis Line.

You will assess needs, coordinate referrals, and document interactions, working closely with partners and CAS staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year direct crisis response experience in a trauma-informed setting.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, survivor-centered care practices.
• Understanding of victim resources and diverse populations.
• Ability to deescalate and communicate calmly in crises.
• Proficient written and verbal communication; teamwork.
• Sexual assault certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered support via phone, chat, text, and email.
• Assess needs and coordinate referrals through Day One and partner agencies.
• Maintain relationships with referral partners and CAS programs.
• Document incidents and interactions accurately in systems.
• Assist walk-in participants with information and referrals as needed.
• Limited in-person support and back-up for Emergency Services when trained.
