Job summary

Cornerstone is seeking a Day One Call Center Hotline Advocate to provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered support for victims of domestic and sexual violence, trafficking, or general crime. The role uses phone, text, email, or chat on the 24/7 Day One Crisis Line with limited in-person support.

Location involves travel between Minneapolis and Bloomington; hours include 3pm-11pm and every other weekend 7am-3pm. Unionized position; AFSCME Council 5.

Qualifications

• Relevant education, professional experience, or lived experience in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field preferred.
• One or more years of experience providing direct crisis response services in a trauma-informed setting.
• Preferred 40-hour sexual assault certification or ability to complete training within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, virtual contact applications, and other related forms of technology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional and confidential trauma informed, survivor-centered and culturally responsive support, advocacy, information, and safety planning for victims/survivors via phone, chat, text, and email.
• Assesses with contacts/participants what they are seeking for services, providing support, advocacy, and referrals through the Day One system, 211, and other resources.
• Sustains relationships with referral partners including Day One Network agencies, law enforcement, medical personnel, and others; works across internal programs at Cornerstone.
• Completes timely documentation and data entry in Apricot and other tracking methods.
• Provides back-up for Emergency Services when cross-trained and assigned.
• Works as a team to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for participants, staff, and visitors.
