Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Surveyor II in the Pensacola area to support land surveying assignments including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction layout. You will operate precision instruments with attention to detail and support field crews.

This role requires at least 1 year of experience, readiness to travel, and ability to work outdoors up to 8-12 hours daily in varying temperatures; a hybrid office setting with most collaboration on-site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of surveying experience.
• Ability to read and understand alignment sheets and construction plans.
• Walk and work outdoors up to 8–12 hours daily in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain surveying instruments and devices.
• Place marks, stakes, pins, and monuments.
• Drive stakes to fix survey points and determine location data.
• Measure distances and read survey tapes accurately.
• Obtain data on angles, distances, elevations, and instrument readings.
• Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of construction items.
• Perform routine data checks for applicability and reasonableness.
• Keep notes, records, and sketches and submit daily.
• Participate in basic layout and field engineering.
• Maintain field equipment and supplies for the crew.
• Collaborate with the Party Chief to meet project goals safely.
