Job summary

Marathon Staffing is seeking a Survey & Mapping Specialist – Construction Management in Pensacola, FL for a full-time role supporting land surveying and mapping activities under the guidance of a Registered Surveyor.

You will lead teams, manage project records, monitor inventory and budgets, perform fieldwork with GPS and robotic total stations, draft base maps in AutoCAD, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with Florida surveying requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 8 years of land surveying experience or equivalent.
• Supervisory experience: 3 years in surveying leadership.
• License: Valid driver’s license.
• Background: Pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assign projects to staff, crews, and provide training support.
• Maintain accurate project notes, files, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Monitor inventory and assist with budgets and cost projections.
• Perform GPS observations, robotic total station measurements, and vertical control work.
• Care for surveying instruments, equipment, and assigned vehicles.
• Compute boundary analyses and prepare boundary surveys from field notes and plats.
• Create/update engineering base maps and AutoCAD drawings; maintain GIS base map quality control.
• Work with Carlson, Topcon, Leica, Trimble and online programs (OPUS, NAVCON, GEOCON, VERTCON).
• Verify and prepare official legal descriptions and certified corner records.
