Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Surveyor II to join our team. You will support data acquisition across land surveys including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction layout, and as-built surveys.

You will operate precision instruments, ensure data integrity, and work with the Party Chief to achieve project goals. The role requires navigating uneven terrain in outdoor settings, willingness to travel, and adherence to PPE and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year surveying experience; familiarity with survey field tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and alignment sheets.
• Capable of working outdoors up to 8–12 hours daily in variable temps.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain surveying instruments and devices for various surveys.
• Place marks, stakes, pins, and monuments; drive stakes to fix points.
• Measure distances and read data; collect angles, elevations, and descriptions.
• Verify levels and elevations for construction.
• Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches; submit daily reports.
• Assist in basic layout and field engineering activities.
• Maintain field equipment and supplies; travel with the crew as needed.
