Job summary

BlueLabs is seeking a Survey Scientist to enhance survey design, data collection, and modeling. You will lead predictive modeling efforts, work with data engineers, and deliver analytic products for diverse clients.

You should be skilled with survey data, statistics, and production-grade analytics. Applicants should have a postgraduate quantitative degree and strong skills in R/Python and SQL, with the ability to communicate insights to non-technical partners.

Qualifications

• Experience working with survey data, sampling techniques, weighting, and survey design.
• Postgraduate degree in a quantitative field.
• Foundations of statistics and modeling (distributions, parameter estimation, confidence intervals and tests).
• Experience building predictive models using regression and machine learning.
• Advanced understanding of R and/or Python.
• Ability to manipulate data with SQL.
• Experience creating analytics output within a production-oriented team.
• Ability to communicate and present technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Experience creating data visualizations using industry leading tools.
• Leadership competencies in empathy, active listening, coaching/feedback, integrity, decisiveness, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deliver survey products and services.
• Develop and maintain internal tools for collection, processing, and analysis of survey data.
• Own the predictive modeling process from ingestion to deployment for key models.
• Ensure data and modeling meet quality requirements; clean, transform, and report data as needed.
• Collaborate with polling managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to troubleshoot and create solutions.
• Optimize data infrastructure and pipelines for reliable data flow.
• Assist in designing and executing experiments and surveys, including sample selection and weighting.
• Document processes and evangelize new approaches to ensure team excellence.
• Work independently and in a team to deliver accurate products on tight deadlines.
